You can be the best You can be the best (Pt. 2)
I strongly believe you have been doing just great since this week. Welcome to the dawning of a new day. Previously we looked at David and how he excelled despite all odds, today we shall be looking at the Part Two of the topic You Can Be The Best, and the man Elihu is our case study.

Elihu was at his best.

Elihu was a young man with the understanding of the aged. In Job 32:8 he said, there is a spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty giveth him understanding. Elihu was one of the friends of Job, who remained with him during his afflictions to encourage him. Wow! He was acknowledging God as the source of his inspiration. Praise God!

Where do you go to for inspiration?

Some youths go into all sorts of practices which eventually land them in trouble. For instance it is a common thing among certain group of musicians; they take hard drugs, just before performing on stage. When asked why, some of them say it gives them inspiration to perform well, some say it gives them the energy required. But I say, “No to drug trafficking and abuse.” Hard drugs only make the life of its victim harder seeing that their brains become distorted and eventually some end up with very serious mental disorders. Hard drugs are never alternatives for you to be inspired; all you need is God. Such drug addicts and traffickers are not to be associated with; you should not be found in such companies and should not be engaged in such practices.

Some engage in exam malpractices, sourcing for answers even before the questions are presented in the examination halls, I have heard some people refer to such materials as “chokes”. As a child of God you must never be involved in such, look up to God and study your books to show yourself approved. Then only can you emerge as an excellent student.

Elihu admitted that God was his own source of inspiration and we can see that he was quite outstanding; he was the best. He could clearly see that inspiration was not a function of age, advanced years were not the only teachers of wisdom, but the Spirit of God in a man makes a whole lot of difference.

Hear this; you should not misunderstand what I am passing across to you, today. Remember I have not said you should not regard the wisdom of the old, just like there is a Yoruba adage that says:

No matter the number of new clothes a youth has, it cannot outnumber the rags of an old man. This is translated to mean that there is an experience that is only obtainable with age.

The aged have their place and must be duly regarded, treated with respect and love. But, when it comes to inspiration, you should not hesitate to run to God. He that lacks insight and understanding should trust God and ask, I tell you, God will not deny you of these. He knows that this is the only way by which you can be the best.

Why do I need inspiration?

The inspiration of the Almighty gives understanding in all you do. Understanding makes you outstanding, enables you act wisely, judge rightly, and life becomes easier, smoother, and more fulfilling, you are not easily influenced by the negative situations and circumstances around. So, my dear one, you need to go on your knees and ask him concerning that issue you are confused about, He will speak to you. I say peace unto you in Jesus’ Mighty Name.

You need Jesus in your life. You must be born again to live that excellent kind of life. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and other things will be added unto you. Kindly say this prayer with me, as I lead you to Him, He loves you and wants you safe in his arms: Lord Jesus, I come to You today, forgive me my sins, wash me in Your precious blood, come and dwell in my heart and be my Lord and personal savior. Thank You for saving me for I know that I am now born again. Congratulations and welcome to the family of God. From henceforth, I see a new you emerging, every failure of the past are turned to miracles in your life, and you begin to surmount all the challenges in your study, career, health, and family in Jesus Mighty name. Amen!
